TEGAN MARIE Bringing Perfect Pitch to PONY Baseball’s COLT WORLD SERIES

Marion, ILLINOIS, August 4

Upcoming Performances Include Music Biz 2018 and CMA Music Fest

Nashville, Tenn. (May 11, 2018) – Warner Music Nashville and Sweety High sensation TEGAN MARIE will be swinging for a home run at this year’s PONY Baseball Colt World Series, taking center stage for a special performance on August 4.

Held for the first time at Rent One Park in Marion, Illinois – home of the Frontier League’s Southern Illinois Miners – PONY Baseball’s Colt World Series is a weeklong international tournament for elite 15 and 16-year-old players taking place August 3-8. Teams and fans from around the U.S., as well as the European, Mexican, Caribbean and Asia-Pacific zones will be in attendance.

Still only 14 years old herself, the rising star was invited to deliver a perfect pitch of her own by official sponsor Pepsi MidAmerica, who partnered with the Michigan native for a six-city tour in 2017.

“On behalf of Pepsi MidAmerica, we are so honored to have Tegan Marie as the featured artist to kick off the inaugural Colt League World Series hosted in Marion, IL,” shared Pepsi MidAmerica’s Doug Deaton. “When we met her last year, we knew she was a star. We’re looking forward to Tegan Marie bringing her incredible live show to our town for this very special occasion."

Tickets to the concert are $10.00 and can be purchased at the Miners Box office or online.  All fans must have a concert ticket to attend.  The concert ticket is not included in the game day or series pass.

On May 17, Tegan Marie will be on hand for Music Biz 2018 in Nashville, where the talented phenom will perform as part of “The Year of Gen Z: Insights from the Front Line with Today’s Youth Consumer.” That presentation will be made by her managers, Sweety High Co-Founder & CEO Frank Simonetti and Co-Founder & CCO Veronica Zelle, the team who discovered Tegan Marie and helped introduce her to the world, making her one of the youngest major label Country artists in history.

Tegan Marie also has a busy week on tap for this year’s massive CMA Music Festival, making three high-profile appearances in downtown Nashville and hitting the baseball diamond once again:

* Friday, June 8 (6/8) – 10:45am performance at Maui Jim Broadway Stage at Hard Rock Café

* Saturday, June 9 (6/9) – 10am City of Hope’s 28th Annual Celebrity Softball Game at First Tennessee Park

* Saturday, June 9 (6/9) – 7pm performance at Cracker Barrel Country Roads Stage Ascend Amphitheater

Having already earned big-time attention from ABC’s Good Morning America, NBC’s Today, Billboard, USA Today, Rolling Stone and more, Tegan Marie’s new song, “I Know How To Make A Boy Cry” – produced by Scott Hendricks (Blake Shelton) and co-written with Nathan Chapman (Taylor Swift), Nelly Joy and Jason Reeves – is slated for release June 1. She is currently working with Hendricks and Chapman on her first album for Warner Music Nashville.

With a larger-than-life voice, media and fans alike have already taken notice of Tegan Marie’s talent after being first discovered by leading Gen Z girls’ media company Sweety High. Landing on several high-profile emerging artist lists, Rolling Stone has named her as one of the “10 New Country Artists You Need To Know” while Huffington Post and Billboard featured her in their 2018 Country Artists to Watch lists. Also a Radio Disney Country artist, Tegan Marie has catapulted into the national spotlight with several high-profile media performances and appearances including ABC’s Good Morning America, NBC’s Today, PBS’ star-studded special Smokey Robinson: The Gershwin Prize and the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards. First releasing the song “Lucky Me” to benefit the children affected by the water crisis in her home state of Michigan, Tegan Marie’s momentum swelled with her breathtaking rendition of Florida Georgia Line’s #1 hit song, “H.O.L.Y.,” racking up over 17 million views on Facebook. In 2017 alone, she garnered over 100 million video views, had 270 million social engagements and gained two million social followers, appearing at the CMA Music Festival on the Radio Disney Country stage and at California’s massive Stagecoach festival along the way. Tegan Marie also scored a string of coveted opening slots, sharing the stage with artists such as Cam, Hunter Hayes and Kelsea Ballerini as critics praised her performances. USA Today hails, “[Tegan] Marie has the personality and the voice of a future star, and she definitely has the always hard-to-define ‘it.’” Last summer she partnered with Pepsi MidAmerica for a six-city tour and is currently working on her debut album for Warner Music Nashville. Her infectious first release “Keep It Lit” is out now.
