Championship Game: Monterrey, Mexico (6) vs. Prague, Czech Republic (1)

Carlos Johan Amaro Santibanez was dominant on the mound, as they rang up 10 strikeouts in Monterrey, Mexico's 6-1 victory over Prague, Czech Republic on Tuesday. Amaro Santibanez surrendered two hits and one run over seven innings while walking two. Monterrey, Mexico got on the board in the top of the fourth inning after Enrique HInojosa Leal doubled, scoring two runs, Diego Alvardo Torres singled, scoring two runs, and Jesus Isai Garza Colunga drew a walk, scoring one run. Filip Němec opened the game for Prague, Czech Republic. They surrendered five hits and five runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking four.


HInojosa Leal seized on their opportunities, leading Monterrey, Mexico with two runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. The infielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Luis Gustavo Guajardo Ochoa, HInojosa Leal, Jorge Kaleb Flores Vela, Garza Colunga, Torres, and Gernando Quiroga Villafranca each collected one hit for Monterrey, Mexico. Game 19: Tokyo, Japan (3) vs. Prague, Czech Republic (5)

Prague, Czech Republic were victorious against Tokyo, Japan 5-3 on Tuesday. Prague, Czech Republic jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Kryštof Kaňok singled, scoring two runs, and Vojtěch Kuklik hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run. A double by Tomáš Burkert extended the Prague, Czech Republic lead to 4-1 in the bottom of the third inning.


Lukáš Chromý earned the win for Prague, Czech Republic. The starting pitcher surrendered one hit and one run (zero earned) over four innings, striking out seven and walking four. Hibiki Matsumoto took the loss for Tokyo, Japan. The starting pitcher went one-third of an inning, giving up three runs on three hits, striking out one and walking one. Ondřej Vostatek collected the save.


Kaňok drove the middle of the lineup, leading Prague, Czech Republic with two runs batted in. They went 1-for-3 on the day. Jan Mulač, Stefano Navale, Kaňok, Matyáš Novotný, and Burkert each collected one hit for Prague, Czech Republic. Burkert stole two bases. Kosuke Taniguchi led Tokyo, Japan with two hits in four at bats. Tokyo, Japan had a strong eye at the plate, amassing eight walks for the game. Soshi Ishigaki and Hironobu Noguchi led the team with two bases on balls each. Prague, Czech Republic welcome Monterrey, Mexico on Tuesday for their next game.

Game 4: Marion, Illinois vs. Monterrey, Mexico

Monterrey, Mexico were triumphant over Marion, Illinois 5-2 on Friday. Monterrey, Mexico got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Gerardo Alain Cardona Muraira tripled, scoring three runs, Miguel III Alejandro Moreno singled, scoring one run, and Daniel Ricardo Gonzalez Garza tripled, scoring one run.

Trevor McClure took the loss for Marion, Illinois. They went four innings, allowing five runs on six hits, striking out four and walking one. Luis Gustavo Guajardo Ochoa appeared in relief for Monterrey, Mexico.


Cardona Muraira drove the middle of the lineup, leading Monterrey, Mexico with three runs batted in. The catcher went 1-for-3 on the day. Cardona Muraira, Weizter Yair Rodriguez Salinas, Jorge Kaleb Flores Vela, Jesus Isai Garza Colunga, Alejandro Moreno, and Gonzalez Garza each collected one hit for Monterrey, Mexico. Game 3: Covina, California vs. Masaya, Nicaragua

Masaya, Nicaragua defeated Covina, CA 9-0 on Friday thanks in part to seven runs in the fifth inning.  Maycol Roberto Bermudez Lopez tripled, scoring two runs, Snayder Alexander Espinoza Garcia singled, scoring one run, Tyler Womack induced Marvin Javier Almanza Urbina to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, and Everson Rafael Trujito Lopez singled, scoring three runs. Masaya, Nicaragua got on the board in the bottom of the fourth inning after Edgar Geovany Lopez Flores doubled, and Almanza Urbina grounded out, each scoring one run.


Almanza Urbina earned the win for Masaya, Nicaragua. The starting pitcher surrendered zero hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out three and walking three. Kevin Mitchell took the loss for Covina, CA. They went one and two-thirds innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on two hits, striking out one and walking two. Andres Flores stepped on the hill first for Covina, CA. The starting pitcher allowed zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out three and walking two. Justin Alexander Cuadra Sandino and Cesar Duvan Zamora Martinez each came on in relief for Masaya, Nicaragua and shutdown Covina, CA.


Bermudez Lopez and Lopez Flores each collected two hits for Masaya, Nicaragua. Bermudez Lopez and Trujito Lopez each drove in two runs for Masaya, Nicaragua. Danilo Antonio Chavez Ruiz led Masaya, Nicaragua with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, piling up eight walks for the game. Masaya, Nicaragua turned three double plays in the game. Masaya, Nicaragua were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Chavez Ruiz had the most chances in the field with eight.


Reed Agosta went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Covina, CA in hits. Covina, CA turned one double play in the game.

Game 2: Tokyo, Japan vs. Palmview, Texas

Tokyo, Japan bested Palmview, TX 6-2 on Friday. Palmview, TX opened the scoring in the second after Martin Moreno III tripled, scoring one run. A single by Kosuke Taniguchi gave Tokyo, Japan the lead, 2-1, in the top of the third. Austin Bazan grounded out, which helped Palmview, TX tie the game at two in the bottom of the fourth. A ground out by Soshi Ishigaki gave Tokyo, Japan the lead, 3-2, in the top of the fifth.


Shota Horimoto pitched three innings in relief for Tokyo, Japan. They gave up three hits and one run while, striking out one and walking none. Ridai Nakaoshi began the game for Tokyo, Japan. The starting pitcher allowed one hit and zero runs over one and one-third innings, striking out none and walking none. Rene Rios Jr. led things off on the mound for Palmview, TX. The starting pitcher allowed zero hits and one run over two innings, striking out one and walking three.


Taniguchi provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Tokyo, Japan with two runs batted in. The second baseman went 1-for-2 on the day. Tokoki Tanabe, Hironobu Noguchi, Issa Kawaguchi, Soutaro Takishima, and Taniguchi each collected one hit for Tokyo, Japan. Kawaguchi paced Tokyo, Japan with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, piling up 10 walks for the game. Noguchi stole two bases. Bazan and Moreno III were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Palmview, TX. Gilberto Rodriguez Jr. led Palmview, TX with two hits in three at bats. Game 1: Prague Czech Republic vs. Bay county, Michigan

Prague, Czech Republic were triumphant over Bay County, MI 10-6 on Friday at Game 1. Prague, Czech Republic got on the board in the top of the third inning after Tomáš Burkert tripled, scoring two runs, and Kryštof Kaňok singled, scoring one run. Bay County, MI scored five runs on one hit in the bottom of the fourth inning. Camden Parker drew a walk, scoring one run, Emesto Valesquez singled, scoring three runs, and a wild pitch scored one run. Ryan Brey walked, which helped Bay County, MI tie the game at six in the bottom of the fifth.


In the top of the tenth inning, Prague, Czech Republic went back into the lead after Bay County, MI committed an error, Jakub Urbánek singled, Bay County, MI committed an error, and Lukáš Chromý grounded out, each scoring one run.


Jan Novák led things off on the bump for Prague, Czech Republic. The starting pitcher surrendered one hit and five runs (three earned) over four innings, striking out nine and walking five. Parker stepped on the mound first for Bay County, MI. The starting pitcher gave up four hits and five runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking two. Stefano Navale pitched two innings of zero-run ball for Prague, Czech Republic in relief. They allowed one hit, striking out one and walking one. Burkert drove the middle of the lineup, leading Prague, Czech Republic with two runs batted in. The outfielder went 2-for-3 on the day. Vojtěch Kuklik paced Prague, Czech Republic with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting seven walks for the game.


Valesquez led Bay County, MI with two runs batted in. The second baseman went 1-for-2 on the day. Nathan Foret led Bay County, MI with two hits in four at bats. Brey paced Bay County, MI with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting 10 walks for the game.




Prague, Czech Republic will play the winner of Game 8 in Game 13 Sunday at 8:00pm.
Bay County, Michigan will play Covina, California in Game 6 on Saturday at 12:00pm.
